A Real Story - One stroke may sometimes help for a lifetime
Once while I was working at my desy I smelled of pan masala with gutka - being a women's organiozation I was shocked and simply shouted "who is eating masala??" hearing me my office maids were frightened and
surprised as normally I am a very soft spoken lady. not getting an answer I stood up to see a small boy running towards the bathroom. a second shout and he came out - he was the culprit. I told him to wash his mouth and asked him if he was done with his routine work, when he said he was free for a while I made him sit in front of a computer and started a small documentary film on tobacco and its after effects. The boy along with my office maids were stuck to their seats speechless and end of the film the maids thanked me for scolding him but the boy was so shocked viewing the film with real life patients interviews and actual operations and doctors interviews that when asked how he liked he numbly shook his head in manner to say that he had promised himself not to eat tobacco in life.

I liked the above piece as it is thought-provoking. The writer became proactive instead of lecturing. A small step but a significant one.

A beautiful little story of faith and kindness. I found myself holding my breath for the boy and smiling at the generostity of the teacher.
More from this writer please.

A few days later when I asked the boy whose name is Vivek whether he still continued eating tobacco or had left he said with a smile on his face, "I am not eating aftre that day." and that was my reward for being harsh to him a few days ago.
