HAIR CARE in MONSOON By Jayant K Mishra, Jharkhand, India

Monsoon is truly a tough time for our hair - it can become frizzy, dull, and weathered. Today, I will share with you, my secrets of managing hair in India’s Monsoon season.

I am a professional beauty and fitness expert, so you ladies can trust me. It will surely help you improve appearance of hair and make it look sexy, shiny, thick, and fabulous!

Diet:

1. As hair is made of protein, your diet should include plenty of natural meat, fish, and dairy products.

2. Decreasing the amount of carbs (especially wheat and other gluten-containing grains) will improve scalp disorders, like seborrhea or dandruff.

3. Correct amounts of organic, cholesterol free butter and olive oil in your diet will provide essential lubrication and moisture to the hair.

Natural beauty masks:

Homemade masks, whipped up with just a few simple and easy to find herbs, oils, and other natural ingredients, will nourish, strengthen, and rejuvenate your hair. Make hair masks your weekly routine. Apply them freshly-made, massage into the scalp, let stay for 30-40 minutes, and then rinse with warm water and mild shampoo. My clients swear by it.

1. Ayurvedic mask made of equal amounts of freshly-squeezed lemon juice and olive oil, will greatly improve dry hair and give it instant shine.

2. Russian mask made of yogurt or buttermilk, will prevent dandruff, strengthen the roots, and give your hair wonderful shine and softness.

3. Mediterranean mask made of egg yolks mixed with liquid honey, will deep condition your hair, stimulate the roots, and sooth the scalp.

4. Cleopatra’s mask made of white clay or red mud, is extremely effective against weak and dull hair.

5. Philippine mask made of extra-virgin coconut oil mixed with palm wine (or cognac) is helpful against split hair.

Everyday Care:

Most of us have little time to style our hair in the mornings. So keep your hair hassle-free. It is difficult to maintain a voluminous mane during the monsoon. Keep your tresses clean and bereft of dandruff and oil. Wash every day with a mild cleansing. Blow dry your hair and use products with a humidity control factor to lower the moisture. This prevents your strands from becoming limp.

If you have fine hair, wash everyday with a gentle cleansing shampoo. Use a light, leave-in conditioner especially if you have colored hair.

Run a wide-toothed comb gently through wet strands. Then toss your mane down, and put the dryer on full blast. Don’t use a hair brush, like you do while blow drying. Simply run your fingers through your hair. Toss up when dry. The mane looks twice its volume.”

Take a good care of your hair with these gorgeous, all-natural remedies, and even in the dullest rainy days your hair will look brilliant and silky soft - as a wonderful expression of your beauty and individuality!
