In Poetry - ON MOUNTAIN HIGH By Lesley D. Biswas, Kolkata, India
ON MOUNTAIN HIGH
On mountain high I have to go,
How to reach, I do not know,
I’ve started to climb, but am very slow,
The road ahead with no one to show. Its rocky and shaky, every step that I take,
The mountain is steep but I won’t break,
The road myself I have to make,
It’s my destiny, I cannot fake. The sky above is open and blue,
The air that fills my lungs is fresh as dew,
The sights and sounds are all so new,
My feet are tired yet happy too.Atop the mountain I find a fountain,
Of faith, belief and conviction.
It washes away all afflictions,
The uncertainties, weariness and apprehensions.I look beyond the maze of fright,
The faint glow now burning bright,
I feel strong and invincible from this height,
Now every battle I m prepared to fight.
My journey to the mountain high,
Where in every step my success lie,
Its also your journey, to touch the sky.
To reach up there; on mountain high.

Hi Vida, Just an idiomatic expression to contrast pain and ecstasy; my feet/my long walk/journey...
