In Jessie's Corner - Politics and Youth in Society!

A bandh disrupts the normal life and routine, creating problems to one and all. When such bandhs are called for –are they justified? To moi it brings only problems—waste of valuable time, energy and everything coming to a stand still. Crores of damage to public property—human loss!

Does human life have any value to the fanatics fighting for causes which don’t benefit anybody but themselves?  Yea, when people fight they need to fight for a common cause. Not use the others to fight for their cause.

Bandhs are so popular in a country like ours!

Today, they have become a part of our lives and one is so used to these bandhs that we don’t think much about the bandhas that have been called. Life goes on at it’s own pace! The problem aggravates when nobody notices and gives any importance to the fanatics—that’s when they turn ugly. Involving the innocent and human loss is not something that worries the fanatics—whatever their cause and whatever the price, it’s paid. It’s probably a simple funda that they follow—“No loss, no gain!”  True—but the loss is never theirs, it’s one of our own who become the sacrificial offerings.

Politics is dirty—the further one is from it the better.

The bigwigs sure do know how to brain wash the average human mind. Hyping everything out of proportion is a knack that they are well versed with. This is what they play their fiddle on. The weak minds—which easily bend down to a paltry amount and a bottle of country liquor! Let’s not forget the student communities which contribute in a big way making these bandhas a huge success.

Why don’t students come forward to fight  against causes like environmental pollution, fight against global warming. Talk about “illiteracy, poverty issues.  Why don’t the younger generation focus towards the betterment of the state/country/world .

Parents bring them up with utmost love, care and attention only to see that their apple of eyes are nothing but have turned to sour grapes only by listening to negative elements which disrupt their bright future and potential.

Students need to understand that when they enter into political limelight its nothing but mere gimmick played by the  big political parties and they are used as a catalyst to destroy peace and harmony ,,,like the saying goes nothing like playing with the tender minds of youth, for their selfish reasons, students will absorb anything when someone brain washes their minds, its like a horse blinders put on their eyes and their goals are directed towards nothing but self destruction.

We ask the youth don’t they realize they are here in the world for a cause and that their lives are meant for a good cause not something that can be forgotten in days ,take the example of” Price Siddhartha he left the palace to find peace and we are leaving the peace in search of palace” …. How sad can it get..

The youth should inculcate activities like Go Green, Environment Friendly, WWF, global warming issues and be youthful. Incase of animals they are more concerned about protecting their houses from aliens and ill elements they work together they work like a platoon they understand the importance of their existence, then what's wrong with us as humans why are we so indifferent among ourselves, but here the only difference is that they have the ability to fight for what is theirs and not others .

Why are they splitting the country and the states?

We should be growing towards the betterment of society not based on religious issues or border issues, be human first.

Take the example of students being misled in the wrong way. Look at the on-going high drama being staged in Hyderabad. Majority of those seen creating a ruckus are the students!

Exactly where are these students supposed to be? Are the parents proud?

Is it on the streets or in the classrooms?

They should be fighting for opportunities like books not given to the less income people, raise funds for those who cant afford studies.

Students/ youth need to be an instrument of peace not walking bombs to disrupt peace and harmony

Their passion seems so right (to them).  Should their passion overrule their rationality?

Yes, Jessie; some of the protest methods etc are an apalling waste.

But i wouldn't say that politics is dirty, and that we should stay away from it.

Unpolitical, uninvolved students will grow up to be uninformed non-voters, non-participants.

how can we hope for change?

One would think that those who indulge in mindless violence are not very educated but here it is the students being led astray by their leaders in Andhra Pradesh.Nice blog.

The violence these days in Hyd shows how students can easily be laid astray. The innocent get caught in the trap set by the scrupulous evil people who use the student strength to fight their battles--knowing that in other situation they are sure losers.

Nice blog Jess. I agree with Nadi. We cannot despise politics as it is what brings in change and runs the country. But yes, the students need to understand that they need to stand for genuine issues, not get swayed by political moves. All the issues that you have mentioned need to be made urgent and worth fighting for to the students and this can be done by teachers, lecturers, parents and people already fighting for such needy issues. Until there is more awareness of all this, students will continue to do what they are doing now.

Nothing is all bad I guess, but half-bad and half-good. The situation in AP is scary though.
