Life isn’t fair!
How many times have we heard this statement time and again? We crib about games that life plays with us. Do we deserve what we get or do we happen to be at the wrong place at the wrong time? Many a times even we are at the right places – it’s probably the wrong timing. One can’t really say Life is fair because life simply isn’t!
But then nothing really is.
Think most of us could agree.
Take the example of the recent abduction and murder case of little Naga Vaishnavi from Vijaywada-AP and many other cases like these—show that nothing in life is fair. What satisfaction could the death of the little girl give to the murderers—heaven alone knows..
It is at times like these –we are forced to look deep within ourselves and come to terms of the savage animals we are turning into. What is happening?
At the end of the day—the question remains “WHY” and we have no answers.
Money wins –no questions asked.
Take any case –money, status, fame –everything go hand in hand. One can’t really separate and give reasons as why such crimes take place. Sex too plays an important role. Most crimes and murders take place because of sex & money. Where the innocent are left to pay the price for the crimes that have been committed not by them but somebody who is directly or remotely connected to the criminal. Is it fair then that somebody else has to pay the price—just because you are related to him/her?
Most of could say—Totally unfair!
But this is exactly what happens—you get tagged.
Why has man so changed –is it our selfishness that turns us into animals? We become unfeeling and insensitive to everything, forgetting that we are humans. Senses are totally eroded that all we are left is with a sense of superficial life that we tend to lead. We gloss this superficiality in such a way that we too being to believe –‘Yes—this is what life is all about.’
Today one cannot really justify the life styles that we lead. We live no matter what happens to the others around us. As long as I can have things my way—everything is fine—the moment something goes off track—then the scenario changes! The animal comes to the fore front and makes sure life is a hell to the rest who come in contact with him/her. The animal within each one of us is given freedom and no matter who gets hurt—your ego and your pride shouldn’t be. As long as these two are intact—life can go on.
Why do we love nurturing the animal within us—why do we give full reins of our lives to the animal in each one of us, and in doing this—we never think of the pain that we inflict on our loved ones. Ultimately making sure life is a hell to all. The pain that you give the others or the pain that the others give you is really fair—but you do it nevertheless!
So then if we pay the price for the wrath not incurred by us then who do we blame?
Yes Jessie, life does seem very unfair at times. But everything that happens is the result of an action...cause and effect. Sometimes the consequences are borne directly by a person who is innocent or completely ignorant of the act...this is so unfair.
In a larger frame the havoc we are playing with Nature is bound to affect our future generations...who do they blame? Very difficult to answer these questions satisfactorily.

Dear Joy, great to see you here, its been a long time.
As Mita rightly points out saying that man has always been a SAVAGE--not that he is turning into one now, the fact is we cover the beast up and try being civilized as expected from us. But sooner or later the beast does rear its ugly head, turning us into beasts.
Our actions today--surely affects the coming Gen.

Jessie, man is not turning into a savage. I feel that man has always been a savage – the civilization that we sport is only a thin veneer – and it cracks at the slightest provocation.

Your words that man is not turning into a beast but has always been a beast reminds me of William Golding's novel"Lord of the Flies"!
Man tries to be civilized because it is an expected/desired behavior--follows rules and norms so that the beast within is kept under tight reins--a time comes when the beast over takes the civilized being within each of us--and we react just as beasts/savages. So many of our questions remain unanswered --simply because we are afraid to face the beast within us--who is so unfamiliar to us. When the beast takes over--rationality takes backseat.

Man is a beast who tries to camouflage his true self, but often succeeds not.

Thanks Irene, camouflaging is what most of us keep trying to do--but how far we succeed one cannot really be about it. The mask worn is stuck--which gives off when things crack the veneer that one tries to maintain.

Yes, Jess, sadly the world is turning into the kind of kalayug that it actually is. Everywhere we see and feel are evil thoughts, evil intentions, evil deeds.
Even those who don't do either of the above get wrapped in all this and pay for something that they don't need to or deserve to. But then, there is something called divine justice. I would like to believe in it even in this world where innocents are tortured and murdered solely because I believe there is a plan up there for all of us, however tiny, we know not what.
It is this faith alone that can help us survive, nothing else will surrounded that we are with all kinds of negative vibrations.
